    Aftermarket headers or SRT8 stockers??

I bought the wife a 300C, i have heads and cam coming in for it.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience in using the srt8 headers instead of an aftermarket brand. I know the stock srt8 units are very nice and i can get those cheaper than aftermarket ones.
    Input anyone?

IMO and from other threads I've read I would go SRT8 headers. Especially if price is your friend. Theres a thread floating around that has comparison pics of the srt8 and JBA shorty and they look quite similar.

meh, people say that the headers alone on stock downpipe dont do much, but after driving a before and after lx with the gibson shortys i beg to differ very nice gain, i assume the srt's are much alike too. just gotta figure out a mid pipe to catback mouting solution, btw thanks for the tune johan, i got it in my hotmail accnt, but not the compuserve one...

I sold mine (stocker SRTs) to another member and I think he is very happy. I little EGR modification I think but that's about it.

I bought these from Kaisersteiner and really like them! Just had to knotch into the header just a bit to compisate for the EGR.

Johan, what are your plans with the ride?. If your going with a mild to middle cam, I'd suggest the JBA's. Reason is you won't need to get the EGR work done and you won't need to use the SRT cats and then adapt them for the cat back if you've already purchased one for the RT.

But if you have other plans, those SRT units slightly modified will keep right up with everything. I run them with high flows.

I have a set with cats for sale if interested.......let them go pretty cheap at this point. All you need is a 2.25 to 2.5 adapter for the catback, and I can modify for the egr before you get them.

    Question...

    Cam,

Which high flows are you using? Magnaflow? I am trying to find a stock set of SRT mid pipes but they seem very hard to find.

Is there another manufacturer you know of? A google search hasn't returned anything other than Magnaflow so far...

    Sorry for the hijack,
    Sean

Go with the JBA's then, it'll make your life easy and be more then fine for many more mods to come. Make sure and use the stock gaskets and either stage 8 bolts or the Nord lock cam washers.
