Has anyone heard anything about a custom grill coming out, I HOPE?

I'm willing to bet there will be items available. Are you looking for billet? Mesh?

I'm looking for any kind of different grill can you help me out. The mesh would really make it look like a bentley

Well, there's nothing as of the current time, but I'd think we should be seeing stuff like this very soon.

They aren't the same sizes. You'd have to go for a front clip most likely. Or somehow get a European 300C Touring edition .

That's a beautiful picture. It's what I would get if Chrysler sold a wagon version -- and I bet it would be nicer inside.

I've got a weird feeling that you are eventually going to see this for sale in the US. If the 300 goes over well, they are going to want to add more variants (more choices = more chances at a sale).

Especially since there are no additonal costs at selling this model, they are already planning on exporting it across the ocean to Europe...how much harder can it be to stick it on a different truck?

Ya never know!

I'd like to see a mesh style come out, but I'd really like to see a Rolls-Royce style come out. Definitly NOT a billet though, too cheap looking.

To get that Euro 300C Touring Grill on a Magnum you would have to change/buy the 300C hood, fenders, bumpers and headlamps. While you are at it upgrade to the Xenon HID lamps.

Costly, but you will be unique! :D

They could have made more money FROM me if they had a 300 wagon. I would pay for the higher quality materials and options not available on the Magnum. It's nonsense.

I would have to disagree with you on that. I presently own an AWD fully loaded '04 Pacifica (Brilliant Black). I have driven the 300 and the 300C. I really like the car and I really LOVE the Hemi but after being pampered in my Pacifica, I would stay with the Pacifica. There is NOTHING wrong with the 300 and it is a fantastic car, BUT - NOT A PACIFICA. The ride, the handling, the comfort - the Pacifica wins hands down. Sorry.

I was refering more towards the Magnum and the lower end Pacifica. I agree the upper end one is much more luxurious. And yes E8502, the handling on a Magnum RT will be much better.

Ooh, looks like we got a fight brewing! I would put money on the 300 for handling, hands down. Lower center of gravity, better suspension, RWD...what does the Pac have going for it? If the Pac is the better handler, it's bad news for the LX's

Not mad or anything, but have you REALLY DRIVEN A 300C?? (Once again I'm not angry, just trying to make a point :) )

Nothing against your Pac, it's an awesome vehicle, one I wouldn't mind having, but to say it's a good as a real car (300 for example) on the twisties is pulling it a bit too far.

And yes, I've driven more then one in the past few months.

I don't want to get anyone mad and especially mad at me. I love the 300 and the direction Chrysler has gone. It is just that the statement made was: " I think if they sold that here nobody would buy a Pacifica." ,meaning a 300 Wagon. These are two different vehicles.

Yes, I have driven the 300 and the 300C. In fact, I had the salesman kinda a mad at me the way I was driving it. In fact, I probably will NOT be allowed to drive a vehicle there again. I did not ABUSE the car, I just DROVE it. The car is an outstanding vehicle and , maybe after I had one for 6 months of driving , I would see it different, BUT. Power aside ( NO Hemi in the Pacifica) , they handle very VERY WELL. Of course, putting the pedal to the metal in a Hemi C is AWSOME. The AWD in the Pacifica is a big + and I will stand by my statement. I would NEVER belittle the 300. It is truly a drivers car. But I still like my Pacifica ride and handling and comfort.
I will say no more.

I'm sure the Pacifica handles fine, easilly able to exceed the recommended speed on a back twisty road. But it's going to be hard to beat out an all new RWD, balanced sport sedan, with electronic stability control.

I beat a seasoned autocross driver in a SVT Contour my first time out in a stock Dodge Dakota, RWD handles so much better then a FWD, even a RWD pickup (OK, it was an RC R/T but still...I thought the point of the SVT pacakge on the Contour was handling). I know your Pacifica is AWD, but it's really built as a FWD with a little power added to the rear. I have not driven a AWD Pcifica so maybe I'm wrong (I think it's bad news for the 300C if it's true though) but I do have a AWD Grand Caravan with aftermarket 17" wheels and tires. Sure it handles good, but the above mentioned Dakota puts it to shame, let alone how I would expect the 300C or Magnum RT to handle.

I like the Pacifica too, I tried to get my wife to trade her AWD Grand Caravan in on one but she like the sliding doors and ease of getting kids in and out. Now somehow I have to convince her the AWD Magnum RT would be the way to go! Unfortunately it will never work, the Hemi Ram will have to go if I want it. I wish I had saw these coming out on the horizon when I got my Ram in December of 2002. I knew they intended Hemi cars but I thought the price would have been in the mid 30's, not the $27,000 invoice the Magnum RT has. If only they could DROP even more of the goodies like leather and I'd much rather had one for the $25,500 my Ram cost. Now I'll have to wait until they are used so I can trade used for used and be in better shape. Man... I stink at waiting too!

Well my wife had her heart set on a Pacifica but I couldn't see me driving an oversized / underpowered mini-van. (Don't get me wrong, I think they're great, but they're just not something a hot rodder brags about)

So I talked her INTO the RT. Boy I sure hope she likes it!!

Hersbird
05-02-2004, 04:56 PM
Technically I wouldn't call the Pacifica an underpowered/oversized minivan. As far as minivans go the Pacifica is overpowered and undersized, but I know what you mean. You think all minivans are underpowered and oversized. Powerwise (at least with a DC van) they have power comparible to what the average car has, and they certainly are not oversized compared to the average pickup or SUV out there. The size is much more usable though, and our 3.8 AWD will pull 25MPG on a level interstate. I don't know if I've ever felt a better seating position then in a DC minvan too, and that is in all tree rows, especially with such and easy step in and out. I know people say they will never buy a minivan, but as far as pure function goes they really cannot be beat. If you ever lived with one for any length of time, you would find it hard to live w/o it, been there done that. Personally I think some Minivans look cooler then the most common cars out there like a Camary or a Tarus.

Glazeworld
05-03-2004, 10:13 AM
I think Minivans are great too, and I'd buy one before I got an SUV. Lucky for me, Dodge made the Magnum....now I can haul stuff and enjoy a sporty ride. My family has had 3 Caravans and it is hard to beat the utility value in those things. I've taken many 1000+ mile road trips in the ol' Caravans, and the ride is much nicer than doing those trips in my dad's Acura MDX. If I remember right, my mom's minivan has the 3.8L with 215HP, so it looks like the Pacifica has a little more juice than that (250HP). I think the Pacifica is great for thoe who need a family hauler, but don't like the stigma of minivans or SUVs. They definitely look better than the new Accord and Camry (then again, my friend's '82 Chevette has better styling than those bland cars.)

To be honest with you, I think the Magnum, Pacifica, and Caravans are all great vehicles, but comparing them to each other is like comparing apples to oranges to grapes. It all depends on what you're in the mood for. I think it's great that Chrysler makes these 3 models for those with different interests.
