Wooee, MAN there is a good selection! Ummm, can you give us a price range?
I replaced the Contis with BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS 245/55/18's.

I'd say that is your #1 all-season alternative, for both performance and value. A great 3-season can be had in the 255/55/18 BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW.I replaced the Contis with BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS 245/55/18's.

My first choice would be the BFG T/A KDWS 245/55/18. Second would be the numerous 255/55/18s that are available. Like Kumho, Hankook, BFG, Pirelli, Toyo, Nitto, etc.......

are these 4 season/all weather?
I had them for the last month of winter, and they were much better than the Contis for traction in ice and snow. I'm sure there are better winter tires out there, but I didn't feel like changing tires in the spring and fall.

The rule for changing sizes of tires is to stay within 3% of the overall tire diameter, and roughly the same load capacity.

67 Charger's got a sweet set of tires in those Michelin Pilot HX MXM4
The first batch of Charger Daytona RTs leaving the factory also had those shoes, but in 235-55-18. I'd say they are a far better choice than the Pirelli P6.
Too bad they don't come in 245-55-18 - they'd be almost identical to the stock diameter.

Just put a new set of BFG's, same as everyone else (245-55-18, g-force, KDWS). Conti's were down to the wear bars at 28,000. Drives like it did new, hard to compare wore out Conti's to new BFG's, but all the tire shops say the Conti's are cheap, BFG's are supposed to be a lot better.
Stock rims too.

I still have the stock tires on, they are smooth but look and perform crappy. Tire guy probably told you that 'cause it may through off your speedo slightly. Couly compensate with a larger width tire...255/55/18 would be sweet.

Does anyone have these on their R/T stock rims?

Check out the 255/55/18 BFG KDWS2's at tire rack. They are a high performance tire for $126.00 each. I just put them on my car. The dealer can adjust the speedo reading.
Here's a link to photos of my tires:

Those look great...how do they perform? Did your dealer install them and then perform the sppedo adjustment? How much did it cost for dealer to adjust speedo?

They were not dealer installed. I'll have it adjusted next time I am in. If I have the software flashed for something else, they probably won't charge me since they have the StarScan already hooked up. The speedo is reading 61.25 mph instead of an actual 60.0 mph, so the error is tiny.
As to performance, I'm going to write a full report as soon as I get some track laps on the tires. Off the top of my head, I'd say - subjectively - the KDW2's are to the OEM Contis as Superman is to PeeWee Herman.

I just ordered a set of BFG 245/55/18, should arrive on 7/13. These appear to be about as close to the stock 18's as one could get.
I will post picks after all is installed. I was worried the 255 side wall would be too large.

Well, all is on and although there is a slightly bigger profile, wheels look pretty good, chromed:

Those big fat mammas are the way to go!
Just wait til you try a fast corner or a quick stop.
If the conti's were a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10, the KDW2 255/55/18's are a 12.
The fat tire look really suits the maggie and the 300C, imo.

Looking good LtlDad...I thought you ordered the KDW 245's???
Anyway, the 255's look awesome IMO and are what I'll probably get...
Mind if I ask what they ran you $-wise?

I tried to get the 245, but all kept telling me it was a 2 month wait. One shop said they had them and then the next day did not ?!?!?!
America's Tire did all 4 out the door for $ 584.00. I had the 18's in the back and my stock 17's on the car, when the install was done. I took the 17's to sell (hopefully) to someone who might need 'winter' tires.

I'm running Toyo Proxes S/T 255/50-18's on my RT AWD. Huge improvement over the Conti's! No clearance problems. They are slightly smaller in diameter than stock. When speedo says 75, I'm doing 74. Try 'em, you'll love 'em!

I posted this elsewhere (sorry, I should learn the anatomy of this site). Hope this contributes to the discussion:
After reading the many posts here, doing some research and being totally fed up with the OEM Continentals on my RT I bought a set of 255/55R-18 Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus. I got them at my local Tucson Discount Tire. I little pricey, but WOW, what a difference in ride! Very smooth and ultra quiet. I haven't done any spirited cornering with them yet, but on the Interstate they are an amazing improvement over the Conti tires. My RT is the base RT, so I didn't have the self sealer Conti's but had all of the issues many of you described like feathering (with a good alignment, bumpy ride and rapid wear. I had 17,000 miles on the OEM and they were looking pretty worn at the tire shop.
So far, I can recommend this tire for those who do lots of highway driving and want a quiet, wider than OEM, high quality tire.
Blessings to all!

LtlDad. They look great and glad to hear you like 'em. These are the tires I plan to replace the Conti's with on mine. 3 quick questions. What inflation psi are you running? Are you planning on getting a speedo recal flash done? It might just be my old tired eyes but I don't see any balancing weights in the pictures. Did they just put 'em on the inside and did they tape 'em or crimp 'em? (I guess that's 4 questions....lol) Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

cadzilla, I wanted to ask the same question about tire pressures. On mine, I am running 36 psi all round, but still in the experimental stage.
Would like to know what others are at wit 255/55/18's (any make)?

Actually, I just got them, so I will check the pressure and see what the tire says on it. I haven't done the flash and the local dealer is kinda a jerk (although read Fnky Chicken's response and understand flashing pains). Since I just went in for an oil change, I will see if they come back with anything when I pick up the car. The weights are on the inside of the tire and not sure if the are 'glue' or 'crimp' style. Had them installed at a "American / Discount Tire".

There are alot of makers for the 255. I could only find BFG in a 245 size. Just go to 'Tirerack.com', like all others have been saying. I think you could probably go to any tire site to get options.
