staggered wheels and tires?

does the Magnum have wheel sensors that prohibit the use of a staggered wheel/tire combo...I was wondering what a "big n' little" set-up would look like...something akin to how the Corvette is set up...and on a totally unrelated subject...I've only seen the Magnum at the car shows and I've never had a tape measure with me...will a piece of plywood fit in the back hatch?

with the traction control and abs systems you need to keep the same overall tire/wheel package diameter.

if not, the computer controls will try and compensate because it will think one end is on the verge of lockup or slippage.

I'm gonna go with 20s up front and 22s in the back with bigger tires.
Dunno about the plywood. I won't be trying.

I was thinking of 18 in front & 20 in back - rim size. Keep the same overall diameter tires. Would like to see that in a photoshop 1st though.

NO on the plywood. Just bought 8' studs and had to lay them between the seats. They cover to the shifter.

you should have no problem going staggered as long as you keep the same Overall Diamter (OD) aka height. If going with staggered rims perhaps 19 front and 20 rear is better.

How about rear 20x10 with 275/35/20 BFGs and front 20x8.5 with 245/40/20? Only 1/10 of an inch difference in size.

You can't fit a 4' wide sheet through the hatch opening. I think on a diagonal the Mags have something like 40" or 42" of clearance. I'm going to have to get used to getting my sheets pre-cut into more portable sizes at the hardware store before I throw them in the car. Remember: measure twice, cut once! Words to live by...

I just want the Magnum SRT8 wheels. I love the look of them, not to gawdy, but a little wider to fit 255 meats on the rear and 245 on the front.

Two other options: Roof rack (don't put too much plywood up there) or a trailer hitch with flat trailer :)

Actually, the underside of the car is pretty darn flat. With all the windows down and a couple of long ratchet straps you could probably haul plywood under the car :razz: (Note: This is a joke, do not try it!)

Hauling plywood under the car reminds me of the time I was driving my '74 Plymouth Trailduster (no lift kit but had 35" BFGs so lots of ground clearance). Some joker in a BMW was tailgating me...there was a large wooden pallet in the middle of the road ahead of me, so I decided to run the sucker over. BMW on my tail hit it hard and wound up dragging between the front and back wheels under the car before the driver had to pull over and survey the damage. Hmmmm...I'll bet a set of 31" BFGs might just fit under the fenders in my AWD (not too much bigger than the stock 27" tires and there's plenty of clearance with stock springs) -- Photoshop anyone? The brakes would never fit inside 15" wagon wheels though...
